Super heroes, princesses, ghosts, ghouls and goblins will invade Greenfield Lake Park for the most fun 5k and one mile walk in Wilmington!  Whether you want to burn a few pre-Halloween calories with our fall 5k or get started adding them on with a family 1 mile un-timed trick or treat walk, we have you covered.  Register today for what will no doubt be a great Halloween tradition in the making!!


Prizes will be awarded for running fast and for wearing a great costume:  overall Top 3 male and female Group shot dressed up runners5k finishers, Top 3 male and female 5k finishers in each age group, Fastest Team, Best Costume, Most Original Costume, Best Halloween-Themed Costume, Best Non-Halloween Themed Costume and Best Group Costume.  Both 5k and 1 mile registrants are eligible for the costume prizes.

Pre-registration rates are $25 for children and team members, $30 for adults and $15 for the untimed 1 mile walk only (does not include a race t-shirt).    Register online by midnight on Tuesday, October 25.   On-site, race-day registration will also be available at the Park:  $30 for children and teams, $35 for adults and $15 for the 1 mile walk.  Those registering on race day are encouraged to arrive by 7:45am.

A 5k registration will also give you entry into the 1 Mile Walk.

Proceeds from the event support the third grade initiative Tar Heels Go Walking and historic preservation programs throughout the Lower Cape Fear Region. Since 2009, through the Tar Heels walking tour, Historic Wilmington Foundation guides have helped educate over 18,000 children, 1,200 parent volunteers and 300 teachers about historic preservation, Wilmington history, public art, and city development.

doughnutsAfter the run/walk, all registrants are invited to enjoy Port City Java coffee and doughnuts from RISE Biscuits and Donuts!
