HWF Presents: Wilmington on Fire (Film Screening)

October 12, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

As a part of HWF’s Preservation Weekend, we proudly present a *FREE* film screening of “Wilmington on Fire,” a documentary about the coup d’état of 1898. To remember our past, and to push for a better future, HWF invites you to join us.

“Wilmington on Fire” documents the only successful coup d’état in U.S. history, a deadly uprising led by white supremacists that unseated Wilmington’s elected government and killed and exiled countless African-Americans. Director Christopher Everett’s research and storytelling is worth seeing– and we hope to see YOU there!

A brief Q&A discussion with the film’s director, Christopher Everett, will follow the screening.

Space is limited. Reservations are required: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/hwf-presents-wilmington-on-fire-film-screening-tickets-71080881831.
